I want to be corrupted,absolutely corrupted

So I want power, absolute power

Inorder to achieve that power

I cut, I heal

I rape, I give compensation

( ofcourse a few hundred thousand rupees)

I create fire, I sprinkle water on it

(Small enough not to kill it)

I persuade, I plead, I beg

I create violence, I call for peace

I lead and being led

(Ofcourse by the powerful)

And last but not the least

I destroy though I can't create

A wrist watch

My wife, being lobbied by our 11 year old son persuaded me to buy him an electronic wrist watch some 5 days ago. The next day though he was not very well and on most such occasions finds a way not to attend the school went to the school proudly wearing it.

But yesterday I found it abandoned on the table and was damaged not because of its own fault but by the extensive research he and his friends had carried out on it.

Though I knew children are always like this, I felt angry.A child from a lower middle-class family whose father was an alcoholic , who had to complete an academic year with only a pair of dresses,who had to do head load works for a meagre sum of rupees at the age of 15 is still living in me.I still feel the pain in my neck after my first day's work.And that feel prevent me from squandering money. But my son has no such worries.May be he is not mature enough to understand such worries.He is not worried about wasting food. May be he is not aware of the fact that there are billions of people who are not able to find a day's meal.

I hope he may be able to relate it to his life once he is old enough.

Beware of hate politics

Beware Indians , my brothers and sisters. After the successful execution of fear politics in Gujarat the Sanghparivar is trying it in yet another state-Orissa.
There are many similarities between the communal progrom executed in Gujarat after the godhra train accident by the Sangh Parivar with the blessings of ruling BJP and that is being tried in orissa after the murder of VHP leader Swami Lakshmananda.In Gujarat Mr. modi and co misinterpreted an accident as a purposeful act of muslims which paved the way for what they call as a natural retaliation of Godhra train carnage.( i'm not going in to details).
Likewise the killing of VHP leader, though a faction of the Maoists has alredy taken resposibility for, is taken as an ideal opportunity for trying another one in Orissa by putting the responsibility on a community, this time it is the Christians.
And you may be aware of what is happening there in Orissa.
Is it an accident that BJP is part of the ruling alliance in Orissa? Could they convince Mr.Navin Patnaik, the so called secularist, that it is easier to win elections by sowing communal hatred among the people ?
As another election is round the corner the BJP and its allies may try it in other BJP ruling states also. And some other parts of the country also.
So beware. Be aware,.

Make the hay......

We are cribbed again. Those who salivated hearing that the new 3G mobile handset rolled out by the apple costs only $ 199 (ie, less than Rs.9000/-) and would be in India shortly might feel a lot disappointed. The two models that have been available through Vodafone and Airtel cost us Rs. 31000/- and 36000/- respectively.

Is it the meaning of the proverb ' make hay while the sun shines'.

Whatever the service providers claims may be, it is too much, especially we do not have the option to change provider once we buy it from them.

A Conventional Mind

Yet another page for me.Why ? I really don't know.The name is a malayalam word which vaguely means ' conventional mind' suggests me. Though we are living in an ever changing world, I'm a little hesitant to accept all that is happening around me in the name of 'modernism'. I think we have to preseve some of the values of yesteryears like sincerity; love, caring& helping other living beings and nature.

I always like to be a part of nature and not apart from it.
